Todd Rubinstein
Todd Rubinstein, the Head Tennis Coach at Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior High, is the founder of Sunshine State Tennis and as well, is originally from Hollywood, Florida. Todd is a former #1 USTA Florida ranked singles, doubles and mixed doubles player and has been ranked as high as #3 in the United States. He attended and played #1 singles and #1 doubles for Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida from 1988 - 1992, which has gone on to win multiple NCAA Division II National Tennis Championships; where as well, he received his B.A. in Communication, his M.S. in Exceptional Student Education and his Ed.S in Educational Leadership.
Todd has also been a member of the USPTA since 1992, was accepted into the USTA High Performance Coaching Program, has his USTA Sports Science credential, is a former NTRP rater, was a member of USTA Intersectional National Finalist Team Florida in 2007, is a two-time FHSAA Singles Champion, a three-time USTA Florida Men's Doubles State Champion, a two-time USTA Florida Sectional Team Champion, a two-time USTA Florida Men's Singles State Finalist, a Florida Cup Winner and a five-time USTA National Mixed Doubles Silver and Bronze Ball winner.

Very few High School tennis coaches I know come with a resume like Todd Rubinstein's. The Floridian has only recently added 3 more USPTA awards to his impressive bio: 2021 Florida High School Coach of the Year; 2021 Florida District President of the Year; 2021 District of the Year.

Todd is also an educator, as he has worked for Miami-Dade County Public Schools for 21 years as a Special Education Teacher, Coordinator, and Chair. He is the Head Tennis Coach for Mourning High and has been a head tennis coach for 18 seasons with 450+ team wins, multiple District Championships and Two Individual State Championships. He was Mourning High's 2020 Teacher of the Year, was honored as a Miami-Dade County Public School's Finalist for 2019 High School Coach of the Year, is an NFHS Certified Interscholastic Coach, and served a term on the FHSAA Tennis Advisory Committee.
As an athlete, Todd played #1 singles & #1 doubles at Barry University, where they have more recently gone on to win multiple NCAA Division II National Men's and Women's Team Championships. While at Barry, Todd attained his B.A. in Communication, his M.S. in Exceptional Student Education, and his Ed.S in Educational Leadership. He has been ranked #1 in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles in USTA Florida in multiple divisions and as high as #3 in the USA.
A native Floridian, Todd is the founder of Sunshine State Tennis, Quarantine Tennis, and Todd's 20 Second Tennis Tips. He has been featured or seen on The Today Show, Entertainment Tonight, Tennis Magazine, ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, ABC News Now, CBS Miami Mentoring Matters, NBC 6 in the Mix, NPR, the Miami Herald, USA Today, Sports Illustrated, FOX's Deco Drive and many other national, regional & local news publications and platforms. Todd has also written a #2 Best Selling Advertising Book on Amazon and was honored by Ronald McDonald House Charities as one of their "12 Good Men" of South Florida.
Quarantine Tennis
Todd started Quarantine Tennis when Covid-19 hit in March of 2020. the focus of Quarantine Tennis is on virtual tennis Instruction, distance learning tennis coaching, and online tennis training.
With the motto "Separate yourself from the rest," Quarantine Tennis is the "Home of Todd's 20 Second Tennis Tips, which specializes in engaging online tennis lessons, online tennis coaching, and online tennis training done virtually from not just the comfort and privacy of your own home, but with the flexibility of anywhere, at anytime!"
There are two Quarantine Tennis departments - "Distance Learning" for teaching pros and "20 Second Tennis Tips" for everyone.
