We are allowing anonymous Letters to the Editor because we understand your position and have experienced USTA backlash to dissenting voices ourselves. Please be aware whenever a letter is signed with The Commish it's always a tennis director, a teaching professional, a vendor or a USTA insider who is in fear of retribution. Thank you. We look forward to the day when everyone can voice their opinion freely and without fear.
I really liked how the WTA responded to the mysterious case of Peng Shuai disappearing after accusing a high ranking Chinese official of assaulting her. Since I have known and respected WTA CEO Steve Simon from his time as Tournament Director of the BNP Paribas Open, I sent him a short note:
Just wanted to let you know that I like you showing backbone in the Peng Shuai case. You have my full support and I know a lot of tennis folks think the same.
Steve was kind enough to reply:
Thank you for taking the time to share your support for this unfortunate issue. There is a long and challenging road ahead, but we will work through it with the hope for a positive result.
With best regards.

Thank God the Southern California section of the USTA sucks so badly at growing tennis and does so well at pissing people off, they’re doing a tremendous job helping my league and tournament business.

Lawyers are destroying the insurance industry, many businesses, heck, the entire country. Just look at our politicians. Aren't most of them lawyers? Despicable. I know. There's couple in my family. To hell with all of them.
