Nestled atop the mountains of Vestavia Hills and spanning over 176 acres, Vestavia Country club offers a rich tradition of hospitality, recreation and family focus for all ages in a luxurious and welcoming atmosphere.
VCC began as a successful riding club in the late 1940s. It opened to membership in 1948 and is regarded as one of the finest clubs in the Southeast. It is a treasure for its finely-manicured grounds, breathtaking views, extraordinary golf courses, and upscale facilities. VCC offers members a resort-like experience just minutes from home.

Member amenities include an 18-hole golf course, 9-hole Par 3 course, 15 tennis courts, a full-service fitness center, resort-style pool, intermediate pool, adult infinity-edge pool, and a premiere child care center.

General Manager Jeff Baker, the former Director of Tennis at Vestavia Country Club, has nothing but good things to say about NGI Pro-Clay. He states that the 740 members play approximately 40,000 rounds of tennis per year.

Originally, the club had 12 regular, fast-dry clay courts. "Our biggest problems had traditionally been freezing of surfaces in the winter where courts could be out for a week."

Jeff met NGI owner Rick Burke during a conference trade show at the Miami Open in 2015 and learned about Pro-Clay. He subsequently traveled to Connecticut and toured four facilities that had Pro-Clay courts. "I liked it. Because of an extra membrane between the rocks and the top layers, Pro-Clay doesn't freeze." He decided to take four of his 12 clay courts and get them resurfaced by NGI. (In the aerial photo above, it's the 4 top courts on the right-hand side.)
The courts were installed by a local contractor in 2016. Rick Burke's son Mike, NGI's Director of Marketing, supervised it personally. Jeff says, "Working with NGI was excellent."
Jeff Baker is a happy client. "The Pro-Clay surface drys very fast during our summer rains. It is very competitively priced and it saves us a lot on the maintenance. Pro-Clay practically pays for itself because of lower maintenance costs. We used to have to buy 4 tons of Fast-Dry every two years. That's down to 500 lbs now."
Jeff Baker added that in his opinion, Pro-Clay is also perfect for home applications. "Private court owners will appreciate the low maintenance cost and less hassle regarding the replenishing of Fast-Dry."
