QUESTIONS FOR SCOTT BAXTER
TCB: Scott, how is PlayYourCourt positioned for growing tennis?
SB: We are the biggest tennis lesson provider in the US with the goal of making tennis instruction less intimidating, more convenient and affordable and we have brought tens of thousands of new players to the sport through our lesson service alone. We are also the fastest-growing tennis community/ league and this system was intentionally created to disrupt the industry by creating a community that finally fixes everything players hate about USTA leagues.
TCB: Does that message resonate with tennis players?
SB: Clearly this is something that resonates because our viral video ad got over 1 million views on Facebook in less than 2 months. (click on the image to the left for the 1-minute video.)
TCB: How fast are you growing?
SB: We currently have over 2,000 tennis coaches and more than 10,000 players in the system. We are trying to knock down all barriers in tennis to grow. Currently, we get 75 new members every day. We are also raising some substantial cash. Lately, we have raised over $3.5 Mio. In the last 10 years, we were able to raise over $10 Mio.
TCB: What ratings systems do you utilize?
SB: We created our own system, which is very similar to UTR since I happen to know UTR very well. But it's based on points between 1 and 100. It's a proprietary system that's like NTRP on steroids.
TCB: Thank you, Scott Baxter.
